Everyone at BCG is conscious of the impact our activities have on the environment, and we are consistently working to make changes that limit this. London's Green team includes both consulting and support staff, and considers all aspects of how we operate. We constantly track our carbon footprint by examining carbon emissions from various sources such as different types of travel, office energy consumption and hotel use.
We have recycling facilities all round the office, monitor the amount of recycling we do for different waste products, and bring in improvements to make sure as much as possible goes in the right bin! Most importantly, we work across the office to think of wider ideas that alleviate our impact, including collaborating or sharing these with other offices around the world. This has included the London office switching to green electricity, office presentations on environmental awareness, reducing paper use through standard printer options, facilities to make cycling to work easier and making the 'greener' travel option the default – e.g. train instead of car, hybrid taxis over standard taxis, Eurostars instead of aeroplanes.
